Slipknot hits #1 with new album

Maybe we’re shameless but we got to give props to Iowa boys Slipknot for snagging the #1 album this week. Their new album All Hope is Gone has been getting rave reviews at The GuardianThe Three Rs, not to mention from the tens of thousands of self-proclaimed maggots out there digging on it. From the numerous listens on their site, its sounds just like their drummer described it, “a classic style Slipknot track pure and simple, but this f—er is jacked up a few thousand volts!”. The title track is free for download on the roadrunner site here. You can buy the full number one album here on Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone and Amazon.com Physical CD or preview and grab the tracks from Amazon MP3:

For your viewing pleasure I’ve included their new video for the single Psychosocial:

  1. I picked up this album on the Tuesday it dropped. Loving every bit of it. They do a great job on this album of capturing their full range of talent, pulling the classic sound from their earlier albums and mashing it up with the more melodic ballads from Vol. 3 and Corey’s venture with Stone Sour.

I was also impressed to learn that the entire album was recorded over in Jamaica, Iowa, and that most of the band still lives in the area with their families.

  2. Not feeling it with this one so much. Love their music, don’t hate this record but it’s a bit too polished from what I hear. Glad to see this band is still doing it. Prefer the “Iowa” album sound more.
