Scented Vinyl - Maxilla Blue

Timing worked out to shoot a happening of Scented Vinyl at Mars Cafe and guess who was there? Maxilla Blue! We can’t get enough of these guys, apparently. The opening also features some members of the Floor Spiders b-boy crew. If you’re not hip to it, Scented Vinyl is a live radio-style program hosted at Mars Cafe in the Drake Neighborhood right here in Des Moines. Daniel invites bands in to share some of their favorite vinyl, talk about their work, and perform.

Scott Kubie is a producer and videographer from Blair, Nebraska. He received a BA in Journalism from Drake University. While at Drake, Scott began Rock Iowa as a student television program. He served as President of Student Activities and booked concerts and entertainment for the student body. He later served on the board of directors for the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition and was appointed their Executive Director. Currently, Scott is co-owner of The Revue Creative, a video marketing and event planning agency with his partner, Keri. He volunteers for the DMMC and lives in the Drake neighborhood.
