80/35 Announcement Tomorrow

At a press conference tomorrow, the DMMC is announcing 10 bands that will be part of their inaugural 80/35 music festival July 4 and 5 in downtown Des Moines. Rock Iowa will be there, camera in tow. I’ll try and get my moblogging for this blog set-up and see if I can’t beat Juice and the Register to the punch with a text message, but they probably already know and will just have to hit “publish”. Rock Iowa knows a few of the biggies but the full 10-band list will still be news to us, so I’m definitely excited. Conference is at 2:00 on Tuesday, tickets go on sale very soon, so keep checking back for more insider info on this developing festival.

Scott Kubie is a producer and videographer from Blair, Nebraska. He received a BA in Journalism from Drake University. While at Drake, Scott began Rock Iowa as a student television program. He served as President of Student Activities and booked concerts and entertainment for the student body. He later served on the board of directors for the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition and was appointed their Executive Director. Currently, Scott is co-owner of The Revue Creative, a video marketing and event planning agency with his partner, Keri. He volunteers for the DMMC and lives in the Drake neighborhood.
