Casper and the Cookies thrice coming to Iowa

Submitted by Andrew Roger on August 4, 2009 – 12:27 pmNo Comment

biggray_cookiesvansmYou may have seen Casper and the Cookies on tour with Apples in Stereo or The Poison Control Center, or got to hear the their tremendous release, Optimist’s Club. But now after a full year of recording with the likes of Bill Doss of Olivia Tremor Control, Robert Schneider of Apples in Stereo, and Vanessa Briscoe Hay of Pylon, they are releasing a killer followup album Modern Silence. Check out Little King for their take on bubblegum pop, shoegazing, and rocknroll. With all that, they are touring and playing three Iowa shows for you, 8/6 in Des Moines at the Vaudeville Mews, 8/8 at Ames Progressive, and 8/11 in Iowa City at the Mill. They must love Iowa. So any of you out there can see these guys. Definitely come check them out.

Vinyl nerds “People in a Place to Know” are releasing the vinyl version, a special 2xLP plus a killer 5″ lathe cut with extras songs and mixes. It’s a solid $20 but more than worth it.
