Wonder boys, the Poison Control Center had a pretty busy year in 2008. 2 EPs, 2 7-inchers, a couple nice tours fronting Head of Femur and Apples in Stereo. But in recent months, the PCC has been relatively quiet. Other than a few striped down sets with touring rrummer Chris Ford (video), there hasn’t been much on the radar.

So what is up with the PCC?

Well first off, they are recording a followup to their 2007 debut A Collage of Impressions with Pat Stolley (Daytrotter) again. Again they are recording straight to tape, the old analog way (and possibly mastering with Doug Von Sloun if the trend continues). Classy sound for a classy band. Personally, I want to hear the racous shredding and wicked splits and spasms of their live show converted fully to their recorded sound.

So far there aren’t alot of gigs scheduled. But if you’re volunteering with 10,000hrs, you see them open for GirlTalk. Should be a killer show. So get your hours in!
