Guaranteed Good Times: April 16th – 22nd
The Deep Vibration (with Roman Candle, Mumford’s, and Gabe
Cordova)
Vaudeville Mews – Saturday, April 18th, 5:00 pm – Showtime: 5:30 pm – All Ages – $7 (rock/soul/country) (second show at 9:30/10:00 with Roman Candle, Why Make Clocks, and Dave Helmer)
Nashville’s The Deep Vibration will be playing two shows this Saturday at the Mews. Like other bands from Nashville, their music is tinged with the heart of country. The band’s name actually came from Lou Reed, who gave the band the name after they approached him one evening. Their music is boozy and bluesy and is the perfect fit for a Saturday night at a bar (even if the 5:30 show is all ages). Roman Candle, also from Nashville, will be playing both shows as well.
Alkaline Trio (with Saves The Day)
Peoples – Sunday, April 19th, 5:30 pm – Showtime: 6:30 pm – All Ages – $20 Advance / $23 Door (pop punk/rock)
To not mention this show would be to deny my past. Growing up in the Chicago-land area, Alkaline Trio defined my young adult years. Sentimentality will not allow me to skip this show, especially with the added bonus of Saves the Day, another favorite from “back in the day.” Even though you may have moved on to more “mature” music, give that emo kid in you a chance to relive the glory days.
