80/35 2009 Discussion Thread

Submitted by Rock Iowa Editorial Staff on March 3, 2009 – 2:51 pm51 Comments

8035logoLots of buzz building lately about the return of 80/35. The inaguaral event was held at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines over 4th of July weekend in 2008. Fans of the first event were excited to learn recently that the 2009 iteration of the rock and indie fest will be in Western Gateway again, albeit a touch further east.

Questions about 80/35? Headliner rumors? Catch word that your favorite locals are already on the bill? The festival organizers do a great job of reaching out to the community and answering questions, even very frank ones about the budget, however, it’s not always easy to find the exact piece of info you’re looking for or catch a nod or a wink in regards to the latest rumor you’ve gotten wind of.

Fire away in the comments in this thread with anything and everything related to 80/35.

Note: If it’s your first time commenting on Rock Iowa, your comment will need to be approved by a moderator first. After that, you’re good to go!

Starter Question: Would you rather have bigger headliners as compared to 2008′s The Flaming Lips and The Roots, or would you rather see more mid-level bands like Drive-By Truckers, Jakob Dylan, and Black Francis?
