Caroline Smith and The Good Night Sleeps (with The Western Front and Jordan Mayland)

nggshowphp Vaudeville Mews – Thursday, February 19, 9:30 pm – Showtime: 10:00 pm – 21+ – $5

Caroline Smith and The Good Night Sleeps have been described as a “sublime pop treat.”  I happen to agree with this classification.  Their music is so sugary sweet it probably isn’t recommended for diabetics.  But go anyway–it’s worth the sugar coma.  (Random Fact:  front-woman Caroline Smith has opened for B.B. King.)  The combination of Smith’s unique voice (a little Regina Spektor, a little Joanna Newsom), catchy melodies, and diverse instrumentation are sure to provide a captivating soundtrack for what is guaranteed to be another great night at the Mews!  Don’t miss Iowan acts The Western Front and Jordan Mayland–you will not be disappointed.

The Community Bash (with Aeon Grey, The Envy Corps, The Poison Control Center, Seedlings, The Nutley’s)

Vaudeville Mews -  Sunday, February 22, 5:00 pm – Showtime: 5:00 pm – All Ages – $10

A diverse showcase of local musicians that will give you faith in the current state of local music, The Community Bash is a benefit concert for Iowa Homeless Youth Centers’ upcoming book, From a Growing Community, Iowa’s Homeless Youth.  Pre-sales of the book will occur at the show.  Don’t miss this opportunity to give back while also basking the glow of our fine local musicians!

Lydia (with Black Gold and Joshua James)

img_203_m Vaudeville Mews – Wednesday, February 25, 5:00 pm – Showtime: 5:30 pm – All Ages – $12

A not-to-miss show for fans of bands like Mae, Straylight Run, and Something Corporate, Lydia sets themselves apart from the aforementioned crowd with their combination of traditional rock, piano playing, and “dream-like harmonies and reflective choruses.  Brooklyn’s Black Gold and Tennessee’s Joshua James will get the crowd ready, Black Gold with their infectious indie pop and Joshua James with his soothing acoustic stylings.  Be ready to dance a little, think a little, and sway a lot.
