One of Iowa’s best musicians that few seem to know about, William Elliott Whitmore, is releasing his newest album, Animals of the Dark today. His seventh album, Whitmore’s dusty gravel road of a voice comes out in full force on this record. For the last three records, Whitmore has put out a “southern trilogy” focusing on the simples peculiarities of life and death. But you’ll find with Animals, that Whitmore takes a stand with his blues howl against the government, hoping to counter the grievances of the administration with confessional of music Check out “Mutiny” on his myspace.
